we’ve handled so many brain and spinal
0:06
cord injury cases that it’s hard to
0:09
figure out a one they’re all
0:12
unfortunately interesting and what I
0:14
mean by that is that those injuries have
0:18
profound impacts on people’s lives but
0:20
in very different ways we’ve had
0:22
anything from you know kind of what you
0:25
would expect which is people who are
0:26
paralyzed to cases in which you know
0:30
what was damaged was somebody’s
0:31
executive function we had a client who
0:34
after a malpractice that affected his
0:37
brain um was still able to dress himself
0:41
still able to feed himself but
0:43
unfortunately was uncontrollably violent
0:46
he ended up in a position where you know
0:48
the rest of his life he needed to live
0:49
in a facility that could handle the fact
0:51
that he had these extremely violent
0:55
tendencies he was an otherwise nice guy
0:57
he was very friendly you know each of
0:59
those cases is very memorable in their
1:01
different ways because you know the
1:03
impact that they’ve had on the family is
1:04
one that you just don’t forget but
1:06
there’s a range of them and we’ve seen
1:08
them

frankly I’ve had more
spinal cord cases that I would like to
remember they’re very common in
malpractice litigation we have a number
of them in the office
right now uh they run the gamut from
intraoperative malpractice dealing with
the spine I’ve had cases involving
infectious pathology compressing on the
spinal cord that’s a disorder known as
spinal epidural abscess they are
significant cases where patients can
lose their use of their limbs
and or uh they’ll lose their balance
bladder
