Biography
Nathaniel Leeds is a San Francisco-based medical malpractice attorney. The son of a doctor, Mr. Leeds learned through experience, the importance of quality medical care and the needless harm patients and their families incur when the healthcare system fails them. His familiarity in a medical household has allowed Mr. Leeds to approach well-credentialed doctors and medical literature without intimidation. “The role that malpractice litigation plays in our healthcare system is a testament to that beautiful democratic ideal that each of us is entitled to dignity and respect and no person or institution is so powerful or prestigious that the least among us cannot demand answers and accountability.”
Mr. Leeds routinely represents clients in various areas of law ranging from medical malpractice, criminal prosecution, insurance bad faith, contract disputes and personal injury. His knowledge and skill provides comfort to many clients during difficult times.
When he is not seeking justice, compensation, acknowledgment and dignity for his clients, Mr. Leeds enjoys time with his wife, a fellow attorney, two sons, riding bicycles, baking and tinkering on vintage cars.

ER was that I have always been a very
0:08
curious person and I had run into some
0:11
attorneys early in my life who seemed to
0:14
know a lot about a lot of different
0:16
things and I thought that kind of Suits
0:19
what I do and it turned out to be a very
0:21
good profession for me because you know
0:23
a lawyer’s job
0:25
or at least all we do isn’t to know
0:27
things is to find out things people come
0:29
to us and they come to us so that we can
0:31
investigate and find out what happened
0:33
to them what happened to a loved one and
0:36
so it’s really that investigatory
0:37
component of a litigation practice which
0:40
drew me to the law and continues to make
0:42
my practice very satisfying for me
0:44
[Music]
0:49
components of my practice which I find
0:51
extremely rewarding many of the clients
0:53
that we work with are very badly injured
0:56
at the end of the representation we have
0:59
provided them with enough money to take
1:01
care of themselves and live a life with
1:03
some dignity and some comfort that they
1:05
wouldn’t otherwise be able to live the
1:07
other thing I find very satisfying is
1:09
that you know we Sue some of the best
1:12
regarded and most sophisticated people
1:15
in our economy doctors and hospitals
1:18
most people don’t have the
1:20
sophistication to say to their doctor
1:22
hey doctor you did something wrong part
1:24
of our role is to allow people who don’t
1:26
have that certification to actually
1:28
scrutinize what doctors are doing
1:30
actually ask those questions when bad
1:32
things happen and so being able to take
1:35
somebody who doesn’t have the
1:37
sophistication to ask questions of a
1:39
hospital and be able to get them Justice
1:42
is something that I find very satisfying
1:44
to do
”In over 25 years of practice on the defense side of malpractice cases, Jeff Mitchell is the attorney I fear most. He takes very good cases. Jeff has the medicine and the applicable literature down cold. He is without a doubt the best cross-examiner I have ever seen. I have paid his clients a lot of money over the years.

”Nathaniel never gave up, even when the other party was playing foul. He represented me when three other lawyers told me my case was a losing battle, and we won. He is kind, yet will make the other party soil their pants in fear for messing with you, and get this - his rate is decent and fair for the work he does. Nathaniel works with integrity and professionalism, which is why I think he is one of the last good lawyers in San Francisco.
